History of the firm

Tom & Paul with a V8

Tom Hemelaar and Paul Uytenhove, old friends and both classic boat enthusiasts established a restoration firm in 1986 for this cultural heritage. Paul & Tom met in construction school and saw the need of a professional service for classic (wooden) boats. Their cooperation resulted in the firm WoodCraft.

In 2000 a 1936 marina came for sale. It was just a few hundred meters from their current location. This opportunity was seized and resulted in Classic Boats Amsterdam.
