This season we transformed a classic Storebro with a diesel engine into an electric boat. Due to strong environmental laws growing in more and more countries we designed a new setup for this boat together with our client. Please find below an impression of the overhaul.

The bottom and sides of the hull have just been finished, we turned the boat around and starting with the decks. We can’t wait to see the result when the the hull is completed with mahogany! Have a look at the photos below for an impression of the progress.
We are very proud to announce the project ‘the ultimate runabout’. Currently we are building ‘the ultimate runabout’ start from scratch. Together with our client we designed a custom mahogany runabout stretches 11 meters long / 36ft. This boat will have the beautiful classic look with nowadays technology. More about this boat will follow soon.. For now a slight sneak preview of the proces:
Update: she’s now for sale. After WW II lots of aluminum was left due to the manufacturing of aluminum airplanes. Boat manufacturers started to use the aluminium for new light weight boat models. One of them was the Swiss manufacturer Spiboot. A lot of boats were produced and there are still some of them around. Most of them, unfortunately in bad condition. Classic Boats Amsterdam still have some small spiboot runabouts for sale. Under the wing of the team of Classic Boats Amsterdam a model ‘taifun junior’ was recently restored. Update: she’s now for sale. More information about that project can be found here.
