History of the firm
Tom Hemelaar and Paul Uytenhove, old friends and both classic boat enthusiasts established a restoration firm in 1986 for this cultural heritage. Paul & Tom met in construction school and saw the need of a professional service for classic (wooden) boats. Their cooperation resulted in the firm WoodCraft.
In 2000 a 1936 marina came for sale. It was just a few hundred meters from their current location. This opportunity was seized and resulted in Classic Boats Amsterdam.
Marina ‘De Hoop’
The in 2000 bought Marina was founded in 1936. Since then the marina was expanded with 42 docking berths. Also a better showroom was created and better transportation functions. The harbour is directly connected to our facilities so that we can be at your best service.
